When we bought our house, we knew we would have to install a central A/C system immediately. After a bunch of research, we chose a high-velocity system so it could be installed quickly, be efficient, and not require a great deal of modification to the house. We chose to have a SpacePak system installed by AJ Michaels. Six days and $18,500 later, we have our system, including an inline electric strip heater to augment our steam radiator system downstairs (instead of all the horrendous electric baseboard throughout the house). It’s relatively quiet (the only real downside versus a conventional duct system), and nearly invisible – and VERY effective. Now, we just need some insulation in the walls and attic.
